Trout a contender now

The latest WBA ratings, released today, have rated Las Cruces’ Austin Trout at No. 2 in their 154-pound division. Just one slot below Yuri Foreman; the champion is Daniel Santos, Trout is rated ahead of Alfred Angulo (No. 4) and Vanes Martirosyan (No. 13), whom Trout lost to at the Olympic box-offs in 2004. “Knockout 2009″ set for...

“Knockout 2009″, a USA Boxing-sanctioned card, is set for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6-7 at the Valencia High School in Los Lunas, N.M.  The show, sponsored by Los Lunas and T-N-T Boxing, will benefit youth prevention programs and scholarships.
