Alderete calls out Enriquez, Filerio
“Mad” Mike Alderete (6-4-1, 3 KOs) of Albuquerque is calling out Gustavo Enriquez (15-9, 12 KOs), of Juarez, who was KO’d Saturday night, and Victor Filerio (2-0, 1 KO), of Bloomfield. Though Enriquez will, most likely, end up on the suspension list, Alderete hopes to fight him on June 5.
“I hope he is cleared to fight and that he will fight,” says Alderete. “I read that his camp is saying that he wants more money to fight me. Well, just to let the fans know I gave up $1,000 of my purse to give to him, so that won’t be his issue. I just want to fight in front of my hometown and to, just plain, fight.”
Alderete also wants Filerio, who scored his a kayo win Saturday night in Ignacio, Colo. Says Alderete: “Let him get a few more fights under his belt and if he is the next local star in the state, I’m willing to fight him any time, just to see if he is, indeed, just that. I hear Mr. Fernandez from Sky Ute likes to make good fights – make this one happen down the road.”
