Battle of the “Mad” in the works
The fight has been offered and the room has been made on the Jan. 29 card at Tingley to accommodate the six- or eight-round local showdown . . . should both parties accept, that is. “Mad” Max Heyman (22-10-4, 13 KOs) has already agreed, but promoters are waiting on the acceptance of “Mad” Mike Alderete (6-4-2, 3 KOs) to take on the man he’s been calling out for the last two years. Heyman is more than willing to fight Alderete, though he has been out of the ring for two years. “I’ll do it,” Heyman said a couple weeks ago, while attending the Tingley card press conference at the Albuquerque Downs. “He’s been calling me out all this time. Well, here I am, I’m ready.” Stay tuned on whether Alderete accepts . . . .
