Bernie’s TUFF response
In response to trainer Fernando Calleros‘ demand over the weekend for a medical note clearing Serina Pino’s pullout of her Oct. 24 fight against Jessica Sanchez, Pino’s trainer, Bernie Sanchez, of the TUFF Gym, had this to say: “Just to clarify for ‘Mr. Idiot,’ we can, and will, provide the commission with a ‘doctor’s note,’ as he calls it, if they want one. But instead of being peeved, how about a prayer for a New Mexican boxer going in for an emergency medical procedure this morning? Also, if he is going to be in the sport of professional boxing, he [Calleros] needs to start acting professional. Grow up. Furthermore, we were training hard and looking forward to our second win. Serina is on her way to a five-win record with a title fight goal, as set by Ana Julaton.”
