“Blood of Champions” updates
The official press conference for “Blood of Champions” card, Oct. 24 at Sky City in Acoma, will be held Friday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce (1309 4th St SW).
Immediately following the press conference there will be a meet-and-greet ring girl competition at Leo’s Bar & Grill (1119 Candelaria Rd NW). The public is invited to both events. Any interested females are encouraged to enter the ring card girl competition.
The weigh-ins for the pros will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday Oct 23, at Sky City Casino. The weigh-ins for the amateurs will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
Victor Barela, now on the card, will attempt his comeback. Barela, 9-1-1 (3 KOs), of Farmington, has not fought since losing to Manny Perez two years ago. Barela will face Jorge Espinoza (4-0).
The Barela-Espinoza fight replaces the Arturo Crespin bout. Crespin is out on injury, related to a car accident last night in which his lower back was wrenched (not a shoulder injury in the gym as previously mentioned.)
