“Bombshells” card update
The line-up for the five-bout “Bombshells” card at Isleta, promoted by Fresquez Productions and headlining Holly Holm, is just about finished. Opponents have been secured for “Mad” Mike Alderete, Angelica Chavez and Michael Brooks. In addition, the long-awaited pro debut of Kevin Riding In has been added.
Albuquerque cruiserweight Alderete (6-4-1, 3 KOs) will face Theo Kruger (9-8-1, 3 KOs), of Port Charlotte, Fla., in the eight-round semi-main event. In a four-rounder at light flyweight, Albuquerque’s Angelica Chavez will take on Gloria Salas (0-2), of Ontario, Calif. Native American amateur standout Kevin Riding In, now living in Phoenix, will debut against Las Cruces debuter Israel Rodriguez, in a four-rounder at middleweight. Top local cruiserweight amateur Michael Brooks, training out of Danny Romero’s Hideout Gym, will debut against Phoenix’s Tony Ayala, who is also making a debut. An opponent is being sought for Albuquerque’s Antonio Zamora, also a cruiser.
In the main event, Holly Holm (23-1-3, 6 KOs) will defend her WIBA welterweight title against unbeaten Duda “The Cameleon” Yankovich (11-0, 5 KOs), of Sao Paulo, Brazil. For tickets, call Isleta’s box office at 1-8-777-ISLETA.
