Unable to make the 180-pound contract weight, Michael Brooks (2-0, 2 KOs) has pulled out of his fight against debuter Augustine Bautista, Feb. 26 at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso. A new opponent has been found for Bautista in Oklahoma’s Chad Johnson (0-1).
Albuquerque’s Fidel “The Atrisco Kid” Maldonado (1-0, 1 KO) will fight next on the March 26 TKO Boxing card in Las Vegas, Nev. Also on the card will be Albuquerque’s Freddy Cisneros (1-2-1).
John Sedillo, former assistant coach from Rosales Karate and Kickboxing, is recovering from a massive stroke. John has helped train professional boxers Marcos Rodriquez, Joseph Salazar and Jackie Chavez as well as numerous amateur boxers. Our prayers are with John and his family.
