Albuquerque’s Bridgette Ruiz (0-1), fighting out of the J. S. C. Memorial Boxing Gym, will be fighting on Feb. 10 at the El Faro Plaza in Vernon, Calif. Ruiz is up against Holly Lawson, from the Wild Card Gym.
No action on the books for El Paso until the Zeferino show May 4. The originally-scheduled card headlining Paul Williams and Chris Arreola had been earmarked for El Paso, but was moved to Corpus Christi.
Unbeaten heavyweight David Rodriguez is expected to hit Las Vegas next week to prepare for the May 4 El Paso card. We hear James Toney is a very likely opponent.
Alan Sanchez is back in action on the Wool Warehouse card Feb. 24.
Big congrats to Carlos Condit, who upset the odds with his win at UFC 143 Saturday night in Las Vegas by beating Nick Diaz for the UFC interim welterweight title.
