Round One Promotions today announced that they will open up a new retail store at Coronado Mall that will carry name brand merchandise targeting, both, boxing and mixed martial arts fans.

“What Round One is trying to do,” says Round One Founder Mike Adams, “is create an awareness for two sports, boxing and mixed martial arts. We are also going to try really hard to showcase and promote our local scene, both past and present in the store as well. The New Mexico boxers, who helped pump the sport in the state, and the many great MMA guys we have here will all be showcased, whether we are selling their clothing in the store, or putting their picture on the wall, they will be showcased.”

Round One is expected to open their doors at the middle of the month, and has already secured a store location on the east side of the mall.

“We were given the opportunity to open the store in Coronado Center, which is the biggest mall in Albuquerque, and we are excited to carry big name brands, and brands from our local fighters and companies as well.”

While the location does have limited floor space, Adams considers it an asset rather than a detriment, and says it falls into the ultimate business plan of Round One. “We have a business plan that I truly feel will work, and I don’t want to accept anything less than a successful retail outlet.”

Included in the business plan? A friendly and knowledgeable staff, that is always willing to talk combat sports. We have a staff that is very knowledgeable about both boxing and MMA, and they will always be eager to talk to the customers about their favorite fighters, or upcoming fights,” says Adams. “I want our customers to come in our store, and feel at home. I want them to come and feel comfortable talking to our staff about the sports. We are going to work with a great tenacity to ensure the store’s success.”

Also included in the “Round One plan for success,” is community involvement and affordable prices. “First and foremost, we want to offer the community personal involvement,” says Adams. “We want to stay active in the ever growing combat sports community in New Mexico. We also want to offer affordable prices to that same community. Round One is going to be a very easy to shop in, and very affordable, because we all want to have the best gear possible for the most affordable price. We will have price points that fit all budgets; no matter how much money you have walking into our store, we will have something for you.”
