These next 30 days are going to be hectic for the Las Cruces P.A.L boxing team. Siju Shabazz and Ayana Vasquez are going to San Antonio on October, 19-24 for the National PAL Tournament, where Siju will be defending his title. On the way through El Paso Tim Meek, who’s been helping prepare Austin Trout, Abie Han and Siju for there up coming fights will hitch a ride with the team on to San Antone.

On the Camacho Jr vs Campas card, Sammy DiPace and Rick Vasquez will be fighting on the show. Sammy is scheduled to fight Leshaun Blair and Ricky is stepping in the ring with Saul Palacios. Both are coming of layoffs and are anxious to get back into the ring. Both Sammy Sr. And Rick Sr. Have been working hard in getting the boys ready.

On November 6th, Austin Trout will be fighting in Dallas for the WBC Continental Americas title. He will be going against Taronze Washington, who’s on a four-fight win streak. A win for Austin will make him the Continental Americas title holder in two organizations, the WBC and WBA.

On the same night Abie Han will be in Korea, opponent still unknown. My understanding is that it will be a promotion that is tied in with the WBC convention, going on at the same time. Since I cannot be there, his sister Jennifer will be going with Abie and assisting Nacho Huizar in the corner.

On the same night El Paso, will be having an amateur black tie event, at this time Tim Meek will be fighting Livardo Quintana from Hobbs. The next night, Ric Ponce, with Omega Boxing, will be putting on a show at Club Fusion in Las Cruces. Ayana Vasquez and Siju Shabazz are scheduled to fight on the show.

We have additional good news, a pleasant additions to the gym is Amanda Crespin, who should be fighting in the near future. She is currently enrolled at NMSU and is training at the P.A.L. while in Las Cruces.

But with the good news, we also have bad. Tudy Crespin was injured during training and possibly will not be able to fight and the end of the month as planned.

Also, David Rodriguez had to go to the emergency room in Austin, Tex., due to a swollen and infected hand. The lacerated knuckle which David got during his last fight was due to a hard seam inside the glove and not a tooth. Nevertheless, it got infected and had to be treated with intravenous antibiotics. Things should be a go for the end of November for David.
