Cisneros camp says ‘Thanks’

This just in from Robert Padilla, manager of Victoria Cisneros:

“I would like to thank everyone that has called, e-mailed or texted Victoria and myself. It has been the most heartwarming thing that could’ve happened to Victoria “ La Reina De Guerrera” Cisneros in her life and in her boxing career. She has never known a fan base in her life but she always had fans everywhere she fought because most boxing fans seen her fight her heart out. “She never had a easy career as if she would of she probably would’ve never fought five ex- or present world champions and also faced the best pound for pound female fighter in the world at Isleta Casino Isleta, New Mexico. After her fight, many have seen her crying but it wasn’t because of pain from the fight, but because she heard New Mexico cheering for her something –  she had never heard before.

“It was her dream come true, to fight the best in the world – and fight her in New Mexico. Not only did she shock New Mexico but she shocked the world of female boxing.

“We want all of the world to know that she never expected to fight Holly in her life, as she had tried many of times in the past including before Holly became world champion and her promoter wouldn’t accept Victoria as an opponent of Holly’s. December 4th 2009 was the first time Victoria had gone ten rounds in a professional fight and she fought the best.

“When a fan said to her after the fight, ‘This fight was like the past Danny Romero vs. Johnny Tapia.’ Victoria turned and looked at me and said, “Oh my God did you hear that?” That is how wonderful people made the ‘Cinderella of New Mexico’ feel. We may never fight in New Mexico again but the feeling of being treated special will never go away from this fighter’s memory. Thank you New Mexico and of course the world as we got calls from all over.

“Victoria may never make the Boxing Hall of Fame but one thing we all know – she will never make the ‘Hall of Shame.’”
