Fresquez-WIBA feud
New Mexico fight fans should not expect any more WIBA title fights at Hard Rock / Isleta. Promoter Lenny Fresquez and WIBA president Ryan Wissow are engaged in a feud not likely to be resolved. Wissow has, both, posted on Facebook and sent out emails to a lengthy list of recipient, his response to a threatening email from Fresquez, who demanded that Wissow remove a previous posting of his on Facebook. Apparently snubbed that Fresquez is going with an IBA title fight for Holly Holm’s next fight, instead of the usual WIBA belt, against Jaime Clampitt on Aug. 6, Wissow’s post claims the reason stems from an attempt to take Fresquez’s daughter out to dinner. Wissow goes on in detail, unleashing several expletives and calling for a boycott of Fresquez. The WIBA is one of a handful of organizations sanctioning title fights these days; the ABC soup also consists of IFBA, WBA and WBC championships.
