Thursday night at Club Nokia in Los Angeles: Albuquerque’s Fidel “The Atrisco Kid” Maldonado Jr (6-0, 5 KOs) went the distance for the first time, taking a four round unanimous nod over unwon Luis Sanchez (1-4). Scores were 39-37, 39-37, 39-36. Both fighters scored knockdowns in round one. It was the first time Maldonado has been down as a pro.
