Maldonado stops foe in debut
Albuquerque’s Fidel “The Atrisco Kid” Maldonado (1-0, 1 KO) entered the pro ranks Thursday night with a first round of stoppage of Nicholas Brannies (1-3). Brannies was dropped twice from body shots before the final knockdown at 1:10. The fight took place on the TKO Boxing card in Commerce, Calif.
