Maldonado wins by knockout in Mexico

Tonight from Tulum, Mexico on Fox Deportes: Albuquerque’s Fidel “Atrisco Kid” Maldonado (15-2, 12 Kos) won the WBC silver lightweight title with an impressive third round knockout over beltholder Jorge “Koky” Romero (24-5, 21 Kos). Maldonado laid out Romero with a straight left to the chin 35 seconds into the third round.
