Mirabal stops Cisneros

Tonight at Sky City Casino in Acoma, N.M on the Mirabal-promoted “Blood of Champions” card: In the main event, Vincent “Li’l Man” Mirabal (4-0-, 1 KO) showed power and poise, by taking out Freddy Cisneros (1-2-1) with body shots at 2:40 of round two. Mirabal took the lead, taking the fight to Cisneros in round one. In the second, a body shot dropped Cisneros at the 2:00 mark. Mirabal kept up the pressure, folding Cisneros a second time for the stoppage. In the co-main, Albuquerque jr. middle Carlos “El Gallo” Sanchez (4-0, 1 KO) scored an impressive first round kayo (2:16) of usually-iron-chinned Daniel “Latin Heat” Gonzales (2-6, 2 KOs). On the undercard: In a four-round female feather bout, Jessica Sanchez (1-1-1) scored a split decision win over Nohime Dennison (1-1), with scores of 40-36, 39-37 and 37-39; Tough Albuquerque welter Antonio Ortiz (2-2-1) scored a big upset with a unanimous decision win over debuter Anthony “El Torito” Contreras (0-1), with scores of 39-37, 39-36, 39-35; California feather Jorge Espinoza (5-0, 2 KOs) had an easy time destroying Miguel Armendarez (0-3), scoring the TKO at 1:02 of the first; and, in a battle of late subs, Fernando Calleros (1-0-1) schooled previously undefeated Freddie Montoya (3-1, 2 KOs), of Albuquerque/California, flooring Montoya twice to win by scores of 39-35 x 3.
