Pino out, Sanchez peeved
Serina Pino (1-0) has been pulled from the Oct. 24 fight card at Sky City, leaving Jessica Sanchez (0-1-1) opponentless. Trainer Fernando Calleros, of Sanchez’s camp, has not only challenged Pino’s trainer, Bernie Sanchez, to come up with a doctor’s note, explaining why Pino has pulled out two weeks before the fight (“Too much bleeding,” is the word, whatever that means), but is asking that the New Mexico State Athletic Commission suspend Pino. Finally, Calleros has issued a challenge for any local fighters, 123-125 lbs., to fight Sanchez.
