Sky Ute opens season on April 3
The first Sky Ute Casino card in Ignacio,Colo. is set for April 3. In the main event, Four Corners’ champion Elco “The Animal” Garcia (22-7, 11 KOs) will take on Mohammad Said (33-8-1, 24 KOs), of Sao Paulo, Brazil in a ten-round middleweight bout. Said is on an eight-bout win streak since 2008. In the co-main, Bloomfield, NM light heavyweight Victor Filerio (2-0, 1 KO) takes on Mike Montoya (2-1, 2 KOs), of Colorado Springs, Colo. Also on the lineup: Brittany Cruz (6-2-1) goes four at 118 with comebacking Albuquerque fighter Tonia Cravens (2-5-1); New Mexico heavyweight Reginald Jackson (1-1) goes four with Alvaro Morales (3-6-5), of Las Vegas; local jr. middleweight Servando Lopez (1-0) takes on Vegas’ Joel Gonzalez (2-5) in a four-rounder; and, in a four-round bantam bout, New Mexico’s Aaron Fernandez (0-2) takes on Las Vegas’ David Springer (2-1-3).
