Tonight’s fights in Chuco
The doors open at 6 p.m. tonight at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, for the “Latin Invasion 2″ card headlining Hector Camacho, Jr. and Ramon Luis “Yory Boy” Campas. First bell is at 7 p.m. On PPV, the fight card goes live at 9 PM ET/ 6 PM PT.
As announced at yesterday’s weigh-in report, Sammy DiPace, of Las Cruces, will NOT be fighting. His bout was scratched when the Texas athletic commission refused to let LeShaun Blair fight for being 20 minutes with the results of his medical exams. A sidenote: El Paso’s Saul Palacios, whose bout was also nixed a week or so before, offered to step in for Blair but a late match-up was not permitted. Palacios was originally set to fight Ricky Vasquez, of Las Cruces.
Five bouts are scheduled for tonight: Hector Camacho, Jr. vs. Campas; Antonio Escalante vs. Carlos Fulgencio; David Medina vs. Miguel Hernandez; Abel Perry vs. Bobby Joe Valdez; and Carlos Valenzuela vs. Cruz Garcia.
