Valdez hangs up the gloves
El Paso’s “Fabulous” Bobby Joe Valdez has decided to hang up the gloves. Valdez has been released from the hospital and is recovering from surgery sustained in Friday night’s fight against Abel Perry. Valdez has given the local arena some thrillers in the last nine years, including draws with Joaquin Zamora and Joe Gomez. Valdez retires with a winning record of 9-7-2, 4 kayos.
