Victory or retirement for Calleros

Albuquerque fighter, former kickboxing world champ Fernando Calleros (1-1-1) has signed to fight amateur star J’Leon Love (3-0, 3 KOs) on the TKO card, May 22 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Ct.  ”I had 12 days notice when I fought Dmitry Chudinov and lost a decision,” says Calleros. “I am not a club fighter fighting for money. I take these harder fights and opponents simply because of my age and I need to find out if I still belong in the ring.

“I will not continue to fight with a losing record or feel satisfied fighting tomato cans. If I beat this good prospect, Love, I will continue to go forward and make something out of a pro boxing career. I have around four weeks to train and prepare for this fight. If I lose this fight, I will hang them up. There’s no reason to follow the footsteps of these other fellow pro boxers with 5-15  records. I will make  New Mexico proud or retire after this fight.”
